Darcy Presiloski spent her early childhood on a farm west of Granum, in southern Alberta. Living in Calgary and with Darcy’s farm background it is not surprising that her primary focus is western art. She finds inspiration at brandings, cattle drives, rodeos and sometimes in a field at the side of the highway. The animals, the everyday activities and gear of the working cowboy all tell stories that she endeavors to express in her paintings.
Presiloski loves to depict people and animals, but horses are her particular favorite. She works in oils, pastels, graphite and charcoal. For a number of years her pieces have been juried into the Calgary Stampede Western Showcase. Her work can be found in the Parks Canada collection and private collections in Canada, the United States and New Zealand.
