Gaile Gallup lives in the ranching county of Longview, Alberta with his wife Kerri. He retired from ranching in 2005 to concentrate on his art fulltime.
Gallup was commissioned to paint the 2015 Ponoka Stampede poster. He has been juried into the Calgary Stampede Art Auction and the C.M. Russell Exhibition and Sale in Great Falls, Montana. His oil painting “Saddling Fresh Horses” was the high selling contemporary piece at the 2012 Calgary Stampede Art Auction, with a hammer price of $20,000. He still rides throughout the year and has said, “If you can’t get inspired in this country, you never will.”
