Laara Cassells is known for her representational paintings and portraits. Currently living on a ranch in central Alberta with her horses and dogs, Cassells' paintings reflect her love and empathy for domestic animals and her admiration for the wildlife she feels privileged to encounter.
Cassells has exhibited paintings, drawings and sculptures in Belgium, Germany, Hungary, Italy, South Korea, Poland, Switzerland and across the USA and Canada. Her award-winning work has been shown in over 150 juried and invitational exhibitions worldwide and she enjoys an international client base. Major career achievements include being Canada’s sole representative at the 2013 “Nordart Exhibition” in Germany, the Best in Show Award Winner at the 2019 “Richeson 75 International Figure/Portrait Exhibition”, the First Prize winner for Painting in the “Con Corso Buenos Aires 8” in Milan, Italy and First Prize Winner in the Federation of Canadian Artists 2023 Artists' Choice exhibition.
